A Cat Raised By Huskies Now Returns The Favor To A Litter Of Orphaned Kittens

Foster parenting happens all the time. We do it as humans for each other and for animals. But animals also sometimes do it for one another, too. Sometimes it happens out in the wild naturally, sometimes it happens in a zoo, and sometimes it happens in civilian homes.

Each and every time, though, it’s amazing.

No matter what form of foster care you speak of, it’s such a generous act of kindness. It shows how caring both humans and animals can be to one another when someone is truly in need.

Just about a year ago, a kitten was on the verge of death. Abandoned, alone, and totally helpless, this little kitten didn’t even have her eyes open yet. It was a truly tragic sight to see.

The folks whotook her in gave her around-the-clock care, but that didn’t seem to be enough.

But they had one more idea up their sleeve…

They let little Rosie the kitty cuddle up with their husky, Lilo. While they don’t necessarily recommend that you do this with your tiny kitty and husky, they knew that their pup was gentle as can be.

Without the fostering care of this big pup, Rosie never would have made it, even through the first night of getting plucked off of the street. She was limp and mostly unresponsive. Lilo’s motherly love and care restored the tiny kitten’s life, and she eventually opened up her eyes. Now?

She thinks she’s one of the gang, a bona fide husky. She loves to go for walks and do all sorts of canine activities.

She and Lilo are never too far apart from each other. This pup was never a mother herself, but her instincts were perfect.

Now, Rosie’s returning the favor by fostering a litter of kittens, too! She has also never been a mother, but after a bit of warming up to the kittens, she couldn’t be more adoring of the teeny little ones. It looks like Lilo taught Rosie well, and now she gets to be a foster grandmother of sorts to even more kittens.

Below, watch Rosie snuggling with her foster litter. Lilo also makes an appearance, too… and it’s enough to make your heart melt into a puddle.
